Are Unknown Things Preventing You From Achieving Success?

There are many reasons why you aren’t as success as you could be!

Perhaps you have allergies and in the summer your head is constantly floating like a helium balloon that a child is jerking around on a string…  I suffered from bad allergies that made my life miserable until I got 5 years worth of weekly allergy shots.  It’s call immunotherapy, and it did work for me.

Or perhaps you were raised in such a way that college wasn’t probable or affordable, so you skipped it and went right to work.  Or if you did have the money, perhaps you family and friends didn’t see the value in such an education and are holding you back?

Then again, it could be that you have something that you aren’t even aware of, maybe some aliment that you experience while everybody else doesn’t.  Perhaps, you’ve gone around suffering through mild forms of pain that prevents you from focusing like normal people.  You wouldn’t realize it, you’d just think it was a normal headache just like everybody else suffers through.  Just part of life…, but what if you have food allergies and don’t realize it?  Or worse some sort of chemical imbalance that prevents you from functioning at 100% capacity?

I know that it sounds like I’m presenting excuses after excuses, but unless you keep a journal of some sort, how will you recognize any patterns in your behavior or health and possible abnormalities?

I personally know a person that didn’t get the proper level of sleep because of a deviated septum of his nasal cavity.  This caused him to snore so loudly that he would actually wake up after an hour of sleeping (or so he claims).  My childhood friend would often appear as if he was sleepwalking or in some sort of zombie state…  Or at least he did until he got his deviated septum fixed!  He’s now an alert and lively guy and his breathing pattern is noticeable different!  Good for him!

The point is, if you find that things aren’t going as successfully as possible for you, try to identify the critical weaknesses in your life and either work on strengthening those deficient areas, or find ways to compensate for those particular faults .

Please feel free voice any weaknesses you’ve had to overcome to be successful.

Health Journal Version 1, Keep Moving

I’ve decided to go with the same loose format with my health journal that I did last week.  I’ll build it out from this point.

This has been another crazy week! I was able to pack a tuna sandwich for work on Monday and Tuesday, but after those days, things fell apart a bit. I almost called off work on Thursday.

Half of the battle when you are sick is just plodding forward at work, and resting after you get home…

Since I caught a cold this past Tuesday, this has been a rough week. But I’m getting better. Unfortunately, my daughter has a bad case of the flu, and I’m wondering if I’m next…

I’m almost out of Free Fruit and Oatmeal coupons at McDonalds, and I have to admit, I’ll miss the small breakfast meal.  I won’t continue to get it if I have to pay though, the prices is too much compared to the less than 20 cents microwavable packets.

Hopefully I start to get some real traction next week!

Health Journal Version .01

The same problems that plagued my progress on my health journal last week, also slowed me this week.  I’m putting in over 12 hours at work trying to fix a problem.  Like I said last week, normally such events would make me reverse course, but I’m sticking to my health journal goal!

Instead I did as much as I could, given the time that I’m able to do what I can…  So I decided to eat a little healthier and more cheaply.  The oatmeal bowls  in the chart below had fruit pieces in then and they were free!  So it was both healthy and cheap!

I started a crude journal (hoping to improve it during the upcoming weeks), that will serve as a starting point for tracking my fitness/health goals and saving money while doing it.  Another great option would be Weight Watchers Online, I’m sure they have a journal as part of their program!

Sometimes life does knocks you off course, but you have the option to try to get back to the planned path that you are supposed to be on, instead of letting life’s circumstances dictate where you go…

So here you have my “not quite ready for prime time” health journal.

Healthy Life Journal, A Slow Start

I had planned on starting my weight loss journal,( now call Healthy Life Journal) on Feb. 1…  But the ice storm kept me at home these past few days, with my car frozen shut (this is a first for me, very funny).  Luckily I was able to get a few things before the storm hit, so I have started the diet (sort of).

So far, the items I bought to start the diet for the journal are as follows:

  • eggs (the perfect source of protein)
  • cheese strips
  • pepper jack cheese slices
  • cottage cheese

I’ve been eating the cheese at lunch, but the other meals I have been eating regular food around the house.  So while this isn’t effective from a weight-loss standpoint, it’s still a start.

I’ve only exercised 1 day, keeping it simple 10 pushups, 10 situps and 10 leg bends?  And of course breaking my back trying to break up the ice in my driveway and on my car!

In previous years, I would have become discouraged from the weather and thought it must not be meant to be, or my luck was bad…  Either way, I would give up on the effort, but not this year!

I now believe that you have to keep plowing through the barriers and bottlenecks encountered along the way!  So while I’m a little bummed, I realize that there is no master scheme to have me stop, things just happen, and my success on my little programs depend on me pushing through the muck!

Have a great weekend, hopefully I’ll have more next Friday!!!
